Potatoes with Canned Stew, Mushrooms, and Cheese is a hearty and flavorful dish that combines the tenderness of potatoes, the rich taste of stewed meat, juicy mushrooms, and stretchy melted cheese. It’s a perfect option for a family dinner or a casual get-together with friends. It's one of those cases when it's simple, quick, and really delicious!
🔶 Ingredients:
✅ Potatoes — 800 g
✅ 550 g pork stew (e.g., Syta Simya brand)
✅ Mushrooms (button or wild) — 300 g
✅ Onion — 1 pc
✅ Soft cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) — 150 g
✅ Salt, pepper — to taste
✅ Garlic — 1 clove
✅ Oil for frying
✅ Fresh herbs for serving
🔶 Instructions:
🔹 Slice the potatoes into rounds or half-moons and parboil in salted water for 5–7 minutes.
🔹 Slice the onion into half-rings and the mushrooms into pieces. Sauté in oil until golden.
🔹 Add the canned stew to the pan, shred the meat slightly with a fork, and cook everything together for a few minutes.
🔹 In a baking dish, layer the potatoes and the mushroom-meat mixture. Repeat the layers.
🔹 Bake in the oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 25–30 minutes, until the potatoes are tender.
🔹 About 5 minutes before it’s done, sprinkle grated cheese on top and return to the oven until the cheese melts and turns golden.
🔶 Serving suggestion:
🔹 Top with fresh herbs and serve hot with sour cream or a light salad.
